Coaching
A different kind of seeing
and knowing — different
possibilities
Looking for coaching?
I am not your straightforward coach
If you are looking for a straightforward coach, there are plenty of excellent coaches out there, with years of experience in executive and life coaching. Go and look elsewhere.
But if you are looking for coaching that explores more than the obvious, you might be in the right place.
I work with you to bring a different kind of seeing to your life and coaching goals. In our shared enquiry, we will draw on different ways of knowing. We will work with the rational, data-driven, fact- and evidence-based ways of knowing that we are all so familiar with. And we will also make space for a more intuitive kind of knowing — the kind we encounter in the Constellations approach through what is called the ‘knowing field’, or through allowing the more-than-human world into the coaching process.
We may well find ourselves wrestling in that space between these ways of seeing and knowing! Yet it is often there that something new becomes visible — a different perspective, new possibilities, a way forward.
So am I the right coach for you?
If something in the above has made you pause — great.
You can find more information below about the different threads I bring into my coaching. I work with both life and work-related issues, and particularly with times of transition — when something is changing, ending or beginning, and you are not quite sure what comes next.
I bring a systems lens and Constellations perspective to coaching
We don’t operate in isolation. We are part of many different systems — our families, relationships, workplaces, communities and wider social and cultural contexts. These systems influence how we think, feel and behave, often without us being fully aware of it.
I guess you know this. But have you taken time to be curious about these systems, and the drivers and obstacles within them? How do your different systems interact with each other? Where might they be creating obstacles — and where might they offer opportunities? Lets have a look at this together. We can do this in various ways — Constellations is one of them.
There can be times when we reach the limits of analysis. We may have looked at things from every possible angle but still not found the perspective or clarity we need. This is where a different kind of seeing can help.
We may use a full Constellations session, or we may use elements of the Constellations process, for example symbolically mapping your system. What becomes visible, felt and known can open up possibilities for different ways of relating and functioning within your systems, in support of your goals.
I can bring a nature-based focus to my coaching
where it feels right and makes sense to both of us

You may be familiar with walk-and-talk therapy or coaching that takes place outdoors, with nature providing the setting and backdrop. That is one possibility.
But imagine what might become possible if nature were no longer simply the backdrop to coaching, but invited into the coaching relationship itself?
This starts with seeing ourselves as humans as part of a larger living world — not separate from it. What might we notice if we were open to nature as more than scenery: as a mirror, a mentor, even a stakeholder in your journey?
I use Earth Conversing as one way of working with this idea — an intentional, reciprocal way of communicating with and listening to the more-than-human world. It offers another way to slow down, see things differently and notice what might otherwise remain unseen.
I integrate a counselling-informed focus into my coaching
Coaching is about change and action. We look at where you are now, where you want to be, and what might help you get there. But sometimes knowing what you want — even knowing what you need to do — isn’t enough. Sometimes, something can interfere with or disrupt the path forward. Again, this is about training our muscle for a different kind of seeing and understanding, from which movement can then flow.
I will bring my counselling experience into coaching. Alongside working towards your goals, we can get curious about what is happening for you as you try to make things happen. What are you thinking and feeling? What is your body telling you? What patterns might be at play? What might be getting in the way?
This isn’t about dwelling on the past or working through trauma. It’s about understanding yourself better.
By developing this awareness, you can begin to make different choices and take action in ways that feel more purposeful and sustainable.
Together, we pay attention to you as a whole person, not just the goal you have brought to coaching.

Photographs on this page are from a painting I brought back from Lithuania many years ago, from a small exhibition of local artists in a seaside town. I no longer know the name of the artist. I do know that painting is of stones, creatures and puddles on the shoreline.
